This is my 12openers:)
- Hell is the only word to describe where she lives. Indeed, devils roam around her every single day. Ann is so used to fear, she has nothing to fear now but only one thing…
- Someone is knocking on the window panes. For the past three days, someone would always knock at this time during the night. Kate pushed the pillow closer to her ears as the knocking grows louder…
- Keith hid under the bed, holding his breath. “Show yourself, Keith! I know it’s you! Keith! Keith! It has been 3years. How long do you want to run away?” cried Mother.
- The sun sets in the evening and rises in the morning. People call this the nature of life but Garry sees it in a different light…
- Dawn stared at her own reflection in the mirror and smirked. Who will be able to see that the gorgeous-looking is Dawn Lee Qianyi? The surgery was a total success and Dawn silently prayed that the revenge would be the same as well…
- Jeffery stopped and studied the pine tree. Even though there were many pine trees in the park, something made him feel that the pine tree right in front of him, bore a special significance. As he thought a little harder, his brain felt as if thorns were piercing through his head…
- Three people with no eyes, no noses, no mouths were what Mindy drew on the piece of A4-sized paper provided for her. Her parents looked on eagerly hoping to see what she would draw next. The teacher told them that autistic children like Mindy express themselves differently and for Mindy’s case, she draws. “Pa…Papa…”Mindy whispered as she pointed at the first person she drew.
- When you are asked where do you live, how would you answer? You would either tell me the name of your street or the kind of house you live in. However, if you were to ask Janet the very same question, she would tell you none of those. Janet lives in a shadow all her life…
- Dennis planted a kiss on Doreen’s cheeks. With trembling hands, he reached for her throat and tightened the grip…
- There are many definitions for different words that appear in the dictionary. Rachel, however, never knew nor understand the meaning of love since the very day she was born into this universe. In her dictionary, ‘love’ means bruises, scars, pain…
- Her eyelids fluttered open slowly. A few unfamiliar faces came into the picture. Fiona tugged at the blanket fiercely and pulled it over her head as they called,”Fion… Fiona…”. Who are these strangers? What do they want from me? How did they get to know my name? Where am I?
- The drink fizzled when the pink tablet was popped in. Mike stirred the drink gently and broke out in hysterical, evil sneers…
(Jasmine’s opener in bold)
Staring at the cold, lifeless body bobbing in the lake, Fiona covered her face with her hands and began to sob. Mike was hugging her tightly and Fiona could see the tears that were flowing out of his eyes silently.
“Mike…I can’t do this…We can’t do this…We can’t just leave her here lying around…She will die…”Fiona pleaded with Mike, holding his hands in hers.
“She’s dead, Fiona…Listen to me, she’s dead…Let’s go before someone gets here…”Mike barked back at Fiona as he shook her shoulders lightly.
Fiona drooped her head and pulled herself away from Mike.
“Get lost if you want to. Get lost if you bear to. I can’t so let me go with her…”Fiona whispered coldly as she stood and walked slowly towards the lake.

You might want to re-think your openers. Why are they at the end of the sentence?
I think the opener you wrote for no. 9 could possibly spark off a potential story.
I am actually not sure which part of my introduction should be the openers so I just ‘agar agar’ bold them. : p
