In less than an hour time, I’ll have to bath and head for the 7-ELEVEN store to purchase 2 packets of ice for the production later on. I’m the producer of my team and I deal with most of the paperwork. I was not at the Auditions because I had Post Production edits to rush on the 2 days that the Auditions were held. On the other nights, I had CCA and other things on so Sofrie and Kenneth were okay with me not being at the Auditions itself. However, I did my job by providing them with the relevant papers they need for the Auditions, such as the Casting sheets, the sides and the Casting reports. After my director and casting director confirm the cast, Kenneth hands over the details and profiles of the talents to me. I was the one who called them to notify them that they are selected for our shoot, inform them, update them, basically the one who helps to pass message to the talents. I printed the paperwork for my team. For the stuffs that were supposed to be in for Checkpoint #3A, I think I did a bad job in terms of making sure that everything is ready for submission/checking because I did not finish up the stuffs that were required before the consultation, such as the Cast and Crew List, the Cast and Crew Deal Memos. Although it was because the day before our consultation was our Casting call audition, that’s why the talents were not confirmed so I couldn’t fill in the cast part for the Cast & Crew List or the Cast Deal Memo, I could have finish up my other deal memos. For that I’m thankful that my group members did not blame me and even help me with it. (: So thankful. Initially, I had to contact the Sports Council to ask about their lockers rooms but they did not get back to me at all. I was given an email address but they did not reply my email so I have to inform the rest about a back up location. I’m the naggy and irritating person that will remind my members especially my director and AD for their scripts and the call sheets because the talents requested for them. I was the one who booked Loft and the stadium initially but my appeal for the Loft was rejected because we can only booked on Weekends as Thursday and Friday was fully booked then it defeats the purpose because my group is only shooting for one day. I then send a request to Mr Jacob for the approval of the stadium. I drafted updates on the budgets whenever we thought of something to add so that I will not leave out anything from the budget list.
Initially, when we had our first one or two meetings, the atmosphere was weird and I feel very weird. Probably because we are from different cohorts, it’s the first time we are working together, first time we are talking to one another, and me being sensitive, I’ll think that why are they so serious? Why are they so stern? but probably in actual fact they are not. I would like to apologize and thank my group because as a producer, I’m not very out-spoken and I speak rather soft at times so when there were some conflicting ideas in the first meeting, I did not do anything to really help make the situation better. Along the way, I learn that communication is very important, if you don’t say what you feel, no one will understand, yes we may disagree with one another but at least we don’t have hard feelings. Also, a group project won’t even start or progress without the help and contribution of every member, without Sofrie, we won’t have a script, without Ben, we would have the list of props, without Ernest, we won’t have the overheads and things cannot proceed so it’s very important that we co-operate and work with each other because we have to be professional. Some of my talents are rather experienced so when they are questions, I have to sound sure and be aware of what’s going on if not they will not have faith in the project. i also learn that it is very unwise to be last minute because you may end up not getting what you want. For instance, I’m thankful I booked the stadium early.
Okay I’m going to catch 45minutes of sleep before my shoot.
